Weekend in Palm Beach

After receiving my friends Karry, Kevin, and Eric many times in preparation for my birthday party, I was owing them a little visit in South Florida. It just so happened that my great-aunt was celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary in Palm Beach, so I was able to attend her special moment as well as spend some time with good friends (: My uncle and aunt renewed their vows to each other on Saturday morning, and it was a very special moment for them and their loved ones. Nowadays, lasting in a successful marriage is a rarity! Congratulations Tia Vilma and Tio Zequinha :)

I have a thing for black and white...

At the church where the ceremony was held, there's a banner at the front with the word "Unity" on it. To be completely honest, the feature of the banner in the photo was completely unintentional. But I really liked it and kept it, because it has everything to do with celebrating their unity of 25 years!

We caught this little angel taking a nap after church (;

 Me, Kevin, Eric and Karry. Great friends!

Fim de semana com a Gabi

You guys will find that a lot of my posts are in "Portuglish"...often a few sentences in English and some in Portuguese. It's how my brain works, and I do as little editing as possible both in the pictures I take and the things that I write, it goes straight from my head to the keyboard.

Jessica, my toothless little angel. (:

Jennifer is too sweet.

Playing with colors

When I was little, my favorite pastime was crayons. Not really coloring, like most children, but the crayons themselves. It fascinated me to group them into different combinations and create gradients from the deepest midnight blue to the color of the clouds. I've always been a different child (: But colors continue to fascinate me, and in photography I enjoy playing with the effects of different colors with different backgrounds, what makes them look brighter and what dulls them. Some things just aren't meant to be shot in black and white!

Monique

Hello! This is my first blog post, hopefully the first of many. This blog was made for showing my photography and for sharing my daily discoveries of the world behind the lens. I've recently started experimenting with photography, and I know I definitely have a lot of room to grow. But the important thing is to learn a little bit every day, and through this blog you all can accompany this journey with me. Besides a hobby photographer, I am in love with all different forms of art. I am a part-time writer, part-time musician, part-time interior designer, part-time chef, full-time dreamer, and on my spare time, a student. I hope you all enjoy surfing through this page as much as I do putting it together. (;

One of my many passions is playing the piano
